Kathryn Tucker Windham Day (Part 1)

video

Kathryn Tucker Windham, a nationally known author, storyteller and photographer, celebrated her 90th birthday with a "Comb Concert" on the grounds of the Selma-Dallas County Public Library. Hundreds of friends and family gathered to play their comb and waxed paper instruments with the help of a Dixieland jazz band. Then, everyone followed the band, New Orleans' style, to the Performing Arts Center, for cake, moonpies and grape soda.

This is Part 1 of the two-part video. Enjoy!
